Requirements

  • High school or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrate acceptable layout welding skills and quality
  • Able to communicate effectively over the phone and before small groups of people
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic mathematical skills

Responsibilities

  • Build a variety of tools, engineering changes, molds, templates, fixtures and jigs
  • Set-up, adjusts and operates all types of machine shop equipment
  • Select and lay out materials
  • Draw sketches and calculate dimensions as required
  • Repair or modify existing tools
  • Calculate shrink rate dimensions for different plastics
  • Team player with the ability to work on miniature, close-tolerance parts and fixtures with minimum supervision
  • Train mold technicians to increase their knowledge and skills in the areas of troubleshooting and mold repair techniques
  • Adheres to approved Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures
