Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher in Business Administration or Technical related field
  • Four years' experience in operations, supply chain, logistics or transportation industry
  • Demonstrated analytical, scheduling and business process capabilities (strongly desired)
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Analytical and organization skills (desired)
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheets
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate multiple activities
  • Physical demand level: Sedentary (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount frequently)

Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor a strategic external transportation and logistics plan that identifies targeted savings, increases service capabilities, and promotes continuous process improvement
  • Conduct transportation activities including managing a centralized hauling process, providing internal and external guidance, coordination and assistance on effectively hauling material
  • Identify, review and analyze inbound and outbound material flows for optimization opportunities and efficiencies
  • Manage outsource hauling work authorization agreements and problem resolution
  • Monitor hauling contractor service levels and prepare hauling contractor scorecards
  • Seek out qualified transportation hauling, innovation and support material which can meet Transmission Field Services' needs in the transportation marketplace, and communicate new transportation hauling options to the appropriate personnel
  • Establish uniform claim procedures and assist field personnel with hauling claim resolution
  • Oversee the transportation and logistics needs for Transmission station and line material
  • Provide business environment knowledge and cost effective solutions to transportation issues
  • Work closely with customers and suppliers to develop and maintain on time delivery success and communicate any anticipated changes to the transportation schedule to the appropriate personnel
  • Continually look for ways to provide customers with cost effective transportation and logistics services
  • Act as primary point of contact for Transmission Field Services for transportation and logistics issues and initiatives
