Requirements

Candidates must possess an MBBS or equivalent medical degree and hold an unrestricted AHPRA registration, with a minimum of Postgraduate Year 4 (PGY4) experience. Prior experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume GP, or telehealth settings is highly valued. Applicants should demonstrate excellent time management skills, capable of handling 10-15 minute consultations efficiently, and be familiar with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulations, and medico-legal obligations. Strong clinical judgment, an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset, robust documentation and administrative skills, and comfort with digital platforms are essential. Punctuality, reliability, responsiveness, and a collaborative team spirit are also required.

Responsibilities

The Telehealth Medical Practitioner will deliver high-quality telehealth consultations to a diverse patient base, managing clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up appointments. Responsibilities include collaborating with nursing and doctor support teams to optimize patient care, maintaining comprehensive digital documentation and compliance, and contributing to clinical training, peer education, and governance initiatives.
