Position Overview

Alternaleaf is seeking experienced Medical Practitioners to join its telehealth team on a permanent basis. Doctors at Alternaleaf combine evidence-based practice with innovation to support thousands of patients across Australia. This is a fully work-from-home position requiring a minimum commitment of 30.4 hours per week during structured clinic hours.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality telehealth consultations across a diverse patient base.
  • Manage clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up consults.
  • Work closely with nurses and doctor support teams to streamline care.
  • Maintain complete documentation and compliance in a digital-first environment.
  • Contribute to clinical training, peer education, and governance initiatives.
  • Operate effectively within a structured roster, ensuring peak-hour availability.
  • Embrace digital tools to optimize patient outcomes and service efficiency.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration (Minimum PGY4).
  • Dependability and ability to thrive in fast-paced, digital-first environments.
  • Experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume GP, or telehealth settings is highly regarded.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to confidently manage 10–15 minute consults (6 patients/hour).
  • Familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulation, and medico-legal obligations.
  • Strong clinical judgment, with an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset.
  • Strong documentation and administrative skills.
  • Comfortable working with multiple digital platforms and navigating technology efficiently.
  • Punctual, reliable, and responsive, valuing team collaboration and patient continuity.
