Requirements

Candidates must possess an MBBS or equivalent medical degree with unrestricted AHPRA registration, ideally with a minimum of PGY4 experience. Prior experience in emergency, urgent care, high-volume GP, or telehealth settings is highly regarded. Applicants should demonstrate excellent time management skills, the ability to handle 10-15 minute consultations efficiently, and familiarity with privacy laws, RTPM, S8 regulations, and medico-legal obligations. Strong clinical judgment, an evidence-based and harm-reduction mindset, robust documentation and administrative skills, and comfort with multiple digital platforms are essential. Punctuality, reliability, responsiveness, and a collaborative approach are also required.

Responsibilities

The Telehealth Medical Practitioner will deliver high-quality telehealth consultations to a diverse patient base, managing clinical assessments, prescriptions (S4 & S8), and follow-up appointments. Responsibilities include working closely with nursing and doctor support teams to optimize patient care, maintaining complete documentation and compliance within a digital environment, and contributing to clinical training, peer education, and governance initiatives. Practitioners will operate within a structured roster, ensuring availability during peak hours and utilizing digital tools to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
