Job Description: 1099 Physician (Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine)

Position Overview

Curai Health is an AI-powered virtual clinic dedicated to improving access to care at scale. We are seeking US Physicians, board-certified in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine, to join our remote-first clinical team. Our clinicians utilize AI-empowered electronic records to deliver urgent and primary care via a text-based chat environment.

Employment Type

• 1099 (Independent Contractor)

Salary

• $110 - $143 per hour, dependent on the number of licenses held, coverage provided, and shifts worked.

Requirements

• Physician Status: US Physician
• Board Certification: Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine (must be comfortable seeing pediatric patients).
  • Family Medicine physicians are considered for all shifts.
  • Emergency Medicine physicians are eligible for overnight shifts only.
• Licensure:
  • Must hold an active license in at least 2 of the following 3 states: California, Texas, Florida.
  • Must also hold an active license in at least 4 of the following 6 states: Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina.
• Experience:
  • Prior telemedicine experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of clinical practice, with significant practice or engagement in primary care and pediatrics.
  • Previous remote work experience is a plus.
• Clinical History: Must have a clear medical history with no board actions or complaints.
• Technical Skills:
  • Digital savviness.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Excellent grammatical construction and command of English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for a professional patient experience.
• Availability: Willing to cover three or more shifts per month. Curai Health operates 24/7.
• Adaptability: Must be flexible and adaptable, understanding that change is inevitable in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

• See acute/urgent care patients via our live text-based chat clinic.
• Manage straightforward chronic care cases, including prescription refills.
• Accurately diagnose patients using detailed patient history-taking.
• Provide evidence-based treatment recommendations.
• Write efficient, clear encounter visit notes demonstrating strong medical decision-making, differential diagnoses, and relevant care plans.
• Close all encounter notes by the end of the visit.
• Stay updated on EHR feature updates through continuous training.
• Approximately 90% clinical work and 10% administrative tasks. Administrative time includes clinical meetings, EHR/automation product feedback projects, and clinical operations quality improvement projects.
