Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of related utility industry work experience; or an Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields
Valid Driver's License
Live or willing to relocate at own expense to within 45-minute reporting time of either the Pulaski Service Center or the Wytheville Service Center
Ability to meet physical demands, including walking rights-of-way in adverse conditions, carrying/handling tools weighing up to 11 pounds, and using brush axe or machete (varies by location)

Responsibilities

Perform entry-level technical work associated with planning, engineering, design, analysis, research, development, testing, construction, maintenance, and operation of company equipment and facilities
Possess and apply technical knowledge from Associate Degree in relevant engineering technology fields, standards, codes, regulations, equipment, materials, systems, and business processes
Assist in handling routine problems and support higher-level employees
Demonstrate basic computer literacy and skills
Perform work as assigned and coached by higher-level employees, while working collaboratively and seeking assistance as needed
Plan and prioritize routine work per AEP standards, maintain accurate records
Apply technical knowledge to resolve problems, show initiative to improve processes and skills, compile/analyze information
Communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal/external customers, assist in preparing technical reports, act as a team player
Develop decision-making skills based on judgment and job knowledge, understand local organizational roles
