Poultry Technical Services Veterinarian

Position Overview

This position serves as the primary veterinary support for Zoetis products and services within the commercial broiler and breeder poultry sectors across the United States. The role involves significant face-to-face interaction with customers, communicating the technical and economic rationale behind vaccination strategies and programming. It also provides comprehensive support across all aspects of flock health and management. As a vital member of the sales and technical organization, this role is responsible for training and enhancing the knowledge of the field force regarding vaccines, poultry health programs, food safety programs, and poultry production.

The ideal candidate will be located in Georgia or Texas, though other locations in the southern region of the U.S. with substantial poultry operations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and provide solutions to commercial producers regarding flock health and management issues.
• Advise customers on designing flock health and vaccination programs tailored to their specific needs.
• Manage the technical planning and execution of customer trials within allocated budgets.
• Contribute to the development of a long-term technical strategy for the growth of current and future products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement account strategies.
• Provide effective market feedback to internal groups to improve the technical service function and enhance company service expertise.
• Develop and present information at key industry technical and commercial meetings.
• Act as a liaison between the company and universities on industry-related issues.
• Work with the internal regulatory department on field and product-related issues.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop technical information and support materials for Zoetis products used in the poultry industry.
• Contribute expertise to the research and development group for new product development and implementation in the poultry industry.
• Participate in and provide technical input to Sales & Service management team meetings.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• DVM and MAM or equivalent qualification through formal training or demonstrated work experience.
• Work experience in the poultry industry and familiarity with U.S. broiler companies.
• Proven success in managing and working within a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to function independently and in multiple group settings.

Technical Skill Requirements

• Knowledge of conventional and antibiotic-free commercial poultry production systems, including vaccination programs, medicated feed additives, direct-fed microbials, enzymes, and associated poultry nutrition.

Physical Position Requirements

• Ability to travel more than 50%, primarily within the U.S.
• Ability to operate in both field working environments and standard office conditions.
• Position can be located anywhere in the southern region of the U.S. with significant poultry operations nearby.
