Position Overview

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a highly skilled Technical Senior Program Manager to lead large, complex, and interdependent programs. This role is crucial for managing program integration, implementation, reporting, and performance to ensure the successful delivery of defined value and outcomes. The Senior Program Manager will lead coordination and management activities with business partners, with a primary focus on our Foundational Technology portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management:
    • Lead portfolio planning and reporting across diverse technical programs within a functional or technical domain.
    • Identify actionable insights and deliver exception-based reports to executives across business and technology organizations.
  • Leadership and Direction:
    • Define and build complex stakeholder communication plans that align planned outcomes with the organization's mission and vision.
    • Motivate cross-functional teams, including executives, leaders, and individual contributors, to achieve business goals.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans for complex cross-functional programs.
    • Identify relevant stakeholders, foster positive relationships, and ensure appropriate stakeholder representation.
  • Enterprise Business Analysis:
    • Interpret business needs and define solution recommendations for business problems across various portfolios.
    • Lead improvement efforts within the scope of the role.
  • Culture of Innovation:
    • Define execution plans to disseminate innovative capabilities across businesses.
    • Lead the definition of competencies to enable teams to innovate through platforms like idea generation, jam sessions, and hackathons.
  • Transformational Change Management:
    • Manage complex, cross-functional workstreams across multiple programs, with a focus on change management and driving end-user adoption.
    • Ensure integration with related projects and apply industry-standard change management methodologies to build acceptance and embed desired behaviors.
  • Program Risk and Issue Management:
    • Manage the identification of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints across complex, interdependent programs.
    • Escalate issues as appropriate and develop/implement solutions to overcome risks within program and portfolio constraints.
  • Ongoing Learning and Development:
    • Develop capabilities of self and junior team members through assessment, development planning, training, and coaching.
    • Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulations, and industry best practices through continuous learning.
  • Program/Portfolio Planning:
    • Lead the production and approval of program plans, ensuring activities are identified, organized, and compliant with the organization's program management framework and governance.
  • Reporting and Review:
    • Manage the program review process.
    • Provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant reporting.
