Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) - High-Performance Chromatography Solutions (HPCS)

Position Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) to join our EMEA High-Performance Chromatography Solutions (HPCS) team. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth within the HPCS business unit, aligning with the strategic objectives of the Commercial Operations organization. The TSS will identify and develop new opportunities within the market, fostering customer loyalty and increasing sales revenue by showcasing Thermo Fisher Scientific's innovative solutions from sample to knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Boost revenue for the HPCS instrument portfolio.
  • Opportunity Discovery: Identify and pursue potential opportunities within the market and customer segments.
  • Customer Engagement: Uncover customer interest in our products and effectively communicate the Thermo Fisher Scientific value proposition.
  • Collaboration: Interface and work closely with key members of the sales team, CMD Divisional marketing teams, Business Unit marketing, support, and technical service groups.
  • Sales Funnel Management: Support and manage the sales funnel and forecast in collaboration with country leads and their sales teams.
  • Forecasting & Strategy: Work with account managers and internal teams on customer forecasts, developing strategies and value propositions to achieve sales targets.
  • Sales Tools Utilization: Efficiently manage accounts, opportunities, pipelines, and forecasting using Thermo Fisher Scientific's sales tools.
  • Market Awareness: Maintain awareness of competitor and industry activity.
  • Product Introduction: Introduce new products and services as they become available.
  • Customer Feedback: Represent customer feedback to the Business Unit.
  • NPI Support: Support New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects to boost adoption and revenue in the territory.
  • Technical Visits: Attend technical team visits at manufacturing and R&D sites.
  • Adherence to Values: Accept and live the company's 4I values.

Requirements

  • Education: M.Sc. degree in Science or Business-based fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • +5 years of proven experience selling chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation.
    • Proven experience handling complex, high-value accounts.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Strong influencing and presentation skills.
    • Competence to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong market knowledge and business insight of industry sectors, markets, applications, and key trends is preferred.
    • Commercial mentality, motivated to win new business, with a validated pursuit of opportunities.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English, Dutch, and French (both written and oral).
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to customer locations up to 50%.
