As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading internal design sessions, architecting solutions, and collaborating with Product Managers and Solution Architects to deliver production-based solutions. This is a team-focused leadership role that requires excellent data engineering skills, supervision, collaboration on project execution, and a high commitment to customer success through mission-critical implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Scientific Data Engineering (SDE) Team and contribute to building Tetra Data.

  • Work with Product Managers and Solution Architects to understand business requirements, gather insights, recommend potential outcomes, and build consensus-driven solutions.
  • Take ownership of building data models, prototypes, and integration solutions.
  • Research and prototype data acquisition strategies for scientific lab instrumentation.
  • Prototype file parsers for instrument output files (e.g., .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and other vendor binaries).
  • Act as a quality gatekeeper, designing with quality backed by unit tests, integration tests, and utility functions.
  • Lead internal project post-mortems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Rally the team to meet Agile Sprint commitments.
  • Actively identify and resolve team inefficiencies.
  • Drive results with pragmatic urgency to resolve blockers and unclear requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience building solutions as a Data Engineer or in similar fields.
  • 10+ years of experience working with Python and SQL, with a focus on data.
  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple customer-focused implementation projects across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience building sustainable processes.
