Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR, with at least 2 years supporting tech/engineering functions in a startup environment. They must have a deep understanding of HR practices within Egyptian labor law and familiarity with remote work culture. Applicants should demonstrate success in developing HR plans and org charts tailored to tech teams, and possess the ability to operate independently, with a track record of influencing leadership and driving initiatives remotely. Being an Egyptian National and based in Egypt is a non-negotiable requirement, along with flexibility to work outside of typical working hours as needed. Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport across distributed teams, are also essential.

Responsibilities

The Tech HR Business Partner will act as the primary HR contact for the Engineering, CX, and Marketing teams in Egypt, partnering with senior engineering leadership to understand org structure, identify people-related needs, and align HR solutions. They will design and deliver monthly or bi-monthly engagement events, develop and drive career development plans and individual development programs, and lead local efforts for employee engagement, feedback loops, and pulse checks. The role involves managing on-the-ground employee relations and HR cases with professionalism and confidentiality, cascading and leading the implementation of People team initiatives across Egypt-based teams, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies, guiding the implementation of performance improvement plans, and delivering clear development pathways including job families for engineering roles. The position requires tracking KPIs such as employee NPS, number of engagement events, and number of development plans delivered, providing recommendations for improving people metrics and reporting structures, and ultimately, delivering results within the first 90–120 days, including a full understanding of the Engineering org within 90 days, delivery of a comprehensive job family for at least one technical role, and measurable improvements in engagement metrics and career development adoption within 120 days.
