Position Overview

Fleetio is seeking a Senior People Business Partner to join our People team and provide strategic support to key business units. This role is designed for a trusted coach and strategic partner to senior leaders, bringing insight, structure, and follow-through to help their teams excel. Our People Business Partners (PBPs) are deeply integrated into the business, understanding ground-level operations, anticipating needs, and leveraging their people expertise to simplify and amplify leadership effectiveness.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy position where you will help redefine impactful people partnership by translating company-wide strategy into actionable plans at the division level. As Fleetio experiences growth, the demand for focused, embedded partnership increases. This role emphasizes doing the right things to empower business leaders, bringing clarity, connection, and confidence to your designated organizational areas and modeling effective People Partnership across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought partner to your division’s leadership team on:
    • Organizational design
    • Team health
    • Talent planning
    • Change management
  • Attend leadership meetings to stay informed about business goals, challenges, and shifts.
  • Proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities within the team, utilizing both data and professional judgment.
  • Lead talent calibration sessions during quarterly performance review cycles to identify key talent, retention risks, and performance concerns.
  • Develop and share monthly organizational health summaries with leaders, tracking trends in attrition, engagement, performance, and other key metrics.
  • Support succession planning and promotion readiness, ensuring alignment between business needs and internal employee development.
  • Serve as the primary thought partner for managers, particularly regarding performance, feedback, and team dynamics.
  • Assist managers in applying people programs and practices in a manner that suits their specific teams.
  • Collaborate with People Experience & Ops, Talent Development, and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure seamless workflows and integrated programs.
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of people programs and practices in the field; act as a connective tissue rather than an owner of all initiatives.
  • Contribute to the creation of documentation and resources as needed, prioritizing simplicity, scalability, and alignment with frontline needs.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in HR or People Partner roles, preferably within a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Leadership Coaching: Proven ability to coach leaders, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and build trust at all organizational levels.
  • Skills: Proficient in performance management, organizational design, and talent development.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Insight-Driven: Ability to synthesize information from various sources (observations, data, conversations) to inform and guide decision-making.
