Position Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a dedicated individual to join our Managed Services team, a business segment supporting the Customer Channels Group. This role focuses on providing critical outsourced on-site services at customer locations, aiming to enhance supply chain and research operations efficiency and effectiveness. The position is primarily focused on scientific support services, including stockroom and point-of-use inventory management, sourcing and order management, dock management, and laboratory support services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of on-site Site Specialists working daily at a key customer site.
  • Organize daily activities, identify opportunities for improvement, and proactively suggest ideas to enhance collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Customer, assessing workload and distributing it conscientiously among team members.
  • Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
  • Execute stockroom duties: receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, and other functions according to customer requirements.
  • Follow well-defined Best Practices, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Take direction from Manager regarding daily duties.
  • Utilize computer systems to access and follow procedures as outlined in written documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations by actively partnering with the EHS Partner.
  • Adhere to general EHS rules, policies, procedures, and instructions from both Thermo Fisher and the Customer. Enforce adherence among employees.
  • Lead and support safety programs, including hazard identification, inspections, and incident reporting/investigations. Communicate and hold local staff accountable for safety expectations.
  • Ensure customer needs are met and high-quality service is delivered by monitoring staff performance, productivity, attendance, and key performance metrics.
  • Assist in resolving all customer situations and reinforce a customer-focused orientation.
  • Collaborate with the Area Manager to quantify value creation for the customer through rigorous data collection and reporting.
  • Write and administer standard operating procedures to support departmental and customer goals.
  • Interact regularly with management, sales, and customers on functional area matters.
  • Address customer concerns effectively with a goal of timely resolution.
  • Prepare and review various operational and individual performance reports.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific positively and professionally at all customer locations.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Environmental Conditions & Requirements

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards.
  • Cleanroom Requirements: No hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc., allowed.
  • Cold Room/Freezers: Operation in temperatures as low as -22°F / -6°C.
  • Laboratory Setting: Work will occur in a laboratory environment.
  • Vision: No contact lenses allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Some degree of PPE is required, which may include safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, earplugs, etc.
  • Warehouse Operations: Work may occur in a warehouse setting.
  • Hazardous Materials: Will work with hazardous/toxic materials.
