Requirements

A qualified lawyer with 5+ years post-qualified experience working at a leading law firm and/or financial institution (previous in-house experience is a plus)
Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex tax issues
Highly organised and flexible; able to multitask and manage a range of competing priorities and projects with tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to communicate with professionals within and outside Jane Street across all levels and areas of expertise
Experience with the taxation of financial products and/or experience with international tax issues (plus)
Significant tax transaction and structuring experience (strongly preferred)
Fluency in English is required
Commercially driven, very comfortable with numbers, extremely collaborative and entrepreneurial, and adept at working in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

Manage tax and related structural aspects of internal restructurings, including investment structures for senior individuals within the group
Handle tax structuring and advisory for acquisitions, dispositions, and other complex transactions related to the broader business of Jane Street
Work on structuring and advisory matters relating to the firm's trading activities
Collaborate extensively with the local and global Tax team, along with a range of non-tax professionals throughout the organisation
