Requirements

  • A qualified lawyer with 5+ years post-qualified experience working at a leading law firm and/or financial institution (previous in-house experience is a plus)
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex tax issues
  • Highly organised and flexible; able to multitask and manage a range of competing priorities and projects with tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate with professionals within and outside Jane Street across all levels and areas of expertise
  • Experience with the taxation of financial products and/or experience with international tax issues (plus)
  • Significant tax transaction and structuring experience (strongly preferred)
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Commercially driven, very comfortable with numbers, extremely collaborative and entrepreneurial, and adept at working in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage tax and related structural aspects of internal restructurings, including investment structures for senior individuals within the group
  • Handle tax structuring and advisory for acquisitions, dispositions, and other complex transactions related to the broader business of Jane Street
  • Work on structuring and advisory matters relating to the firm's trading activities
  • Collaborate extensively with the local and global Tax team, along with a range of non-tax professionals throughout the organisation
