Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and ideally hold a Master’s degree or professional certification such as a CPA or JD. They must have at least 10 years of progressive experience in tax planning and compliance, with a strong focus on corporate and fund-level tax matters, including international tax considerations. Demonstrated expertise in US and international tax regulations, particularly Subchapter K and partnership taxation, is essential.
As Head of Tax, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s overall tax strategy, evaluating current tax processes, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. They will provide tax advice to cross-functional teams, oversee Voleon’s relationships with external tax advisors, and conduct research on complex tax issues impacting the firm’s funds and management companies. Furthermore, they will actively participate in the tax planning of new products, jurisdictions, and the firm’s overall footprint, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
