Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in core Network and Security
  • Good experience in data Security operations (Administration/Configuration/Troubleshooting/Design)
  • Experience in designing, implementation, and management of large-scale enterprise networks with network security and multi-vendor firewalls (e.g., Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Fortinet, Sonicwall, Palo-Alto)
  • Experience in configuration and implementation of network security tools (e.g., Web Application Firewall, Network Intrusion Prevention System, Firewall Analyzer, DDOS)
  • Detailed understanding of L3 routing protocols (OSPF & BGP)
  • Multi-vendor deployment experience (Whitebox preferred)
  • Solid understanding of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies
  • Experience with networking technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, MPLS VPNs, VxLAN, Multicast, DMVPN, IPSEC, Encryption Standards, Network Security)
  • Understanding and implementation experience in network design principles (VPN, Express route, Load balancing, Network watcher, Traffic manager, User-defined Routing, Azure Front Door, WAF, Application Gateway)
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure Compute, Storage, Network, backup, TCP/IP, VPN, Subnet, Routing, and Infrastructure as a Service
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure architectural principles and key networking services
  • Core network skills (TCP/IP, DNS, Packet Capture, Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices (Python, Shell Scripting, YAML)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or associated discipline with 3-5+ years experience (additional experience may substitute for degree)
  • Desired certifications: Cisco Certified Technician (CCT), Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), ITIL Foundations, Security+, Microsoft

Responsibilities

  • Configures, maintains, and operates routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers, VOIP equipment, and monitoring tools
  • Installs physical equipment, connects cabling, dresses communications racks, powers devices per provided documentation
  • Oversees the proactive monitoring of the network infrastructure via monitoring tools, addresses alerts in a timely manner, and documents topologies and changes
  • Mentors, coaches, and knowledge shares with junior associates and peers
  • Is the escalation point for junior associates handling difficult incidents/requests
  • Independently processes routine requests for network services, access, and documentation
  • Independently troubleshoots and resolves major incidents, runs outage bridges, and seeks root cause analysis for complex network issues
  • Independently owns network infrastructure projects from concept to completion including requirements gathering, implementation, turn up, testing, and hand off of the technology solution to the business
  • Independently becomes a subject matter expert in one or more network specialty domain such as datacenter, firewall, wireless, load balancing, cloud networking, or VOIP
  • Contributes to the implementation of major network infrastructure projects in cooperation with senior engineers and peers
