Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent education
8 years related experience in telecommunications, engineering, or network planning or equivalent
Knowledgeable and skilled in planning and/or engineering
Knowledgeable and able to work in appropriate systems and Microsoft Office
Ability to work with planning, operations, and all internal and external customers
Ability to maintain budget and assist in forecasting budgets
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

Design and prepare Engineering work orders for land developments, new buildings, single line requests, rehab, DSL, FTTN, FTTH, FTTT, road relocations, augmentation projects, and special circuit requests
Utilize tools such as IQGeo, JDS, FORTE, WFMT, ARMOR, TIRKS, LFACS, and MS Office
Design and acquire civil permits
Maintain positive interaction with internal and external customers
Maintain open conversation with planning and all company departments
Provide high-quality service to Brightspeed customers
Develop/define plans for the implementation of new plant construction or modifications to existing facilities
Prepare plans and specifications, including gathering field data
Assure the most feasible, practical, and economical means to complete the work utilized
Provide cost data to support capital planning and budgeting
Monitor and control product expenditure
Oversee the installation/construction and testing of plant facilities
Analyze local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment
Plan, design, evaluate, select operating systems and protocol suites, and configure communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices
Resolve interoperability problems to maintain operations across all platforms
Configure systems to user environments
Support acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
