Responsibilities

Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure
Provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary
Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures
Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure
Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field
