Position Overview

Symbotic is revolutionizing supply chain logistics with its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform. We are seeking a Supervisor, System Reliability Integration to lead a team of field-based Reliability Engineers. This role is crucial for managing deployment schedules, acting as a liaison between project sites and internal teams, and ensuring the efficient operation of our automated and robotic systems. The ideal candidate will provide strong leadership, hands-on support, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our client's operations.

The System Reliability Integration team is part of the Deployment, Implementation and Operations Organization, responsible for the stand-up and operational success of our systems within client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, train, and develop the Reliability team.
    • Implement standardized policies, processes, and procedures for operational efficiency.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship.
    • Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members.
  • Project Coordination & Issue Resolution:
    • Coordinate weekly deployment schedules to meet project and customer priorities.
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for system issues, ensuring timely resolution with internal teams.
    • Provide regular updates on project status to internal teams and stakeholders.
    • Address site-level issues promptly.
  • System Maintenance & Support:
    • Perform inspections, upgrades, and evaluations on the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) and Symbotic’s autonomous vehicle fleet.
    • Support system uptime by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying fleet system components.
    • Maintain advanced knowledge of Symbotic’s systems, equipment, software, and tools.
    • Perform advanced troubleshooting of robotic vehicle systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and specialized test equipment.
    • Manage escalated equipment needs related to customer issues, coordinating with internal departments.
  • Documentation & Collaboration:
    • Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation, SOPs, and escalation protocols.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Product, Customer Success) to identify and address ongoing system maintenance needs.
    • Communicate production-impacting issues and solutions effectively, including estimated timeframes for maintenance.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure daily compliance with safety standards (OSHA, Symbotic, and customer site requirements).
  • Adaptability:
    • Adapt quickly to a dynamic, fast-paced environment and shifting priorities.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in mechanical robotics, automation, and/or electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct leadership or managerial experience, including overseeing and directing remote site support operations independently.
  • Proficiency in performing all inspection functions.
  • High level of robotic troubleshooting skills; programming experience is a plus.
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills.
  • Proficient with different schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or an equivalent field.
