Responsibilities

  • Supervise compliance with import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade documentation (e.g., invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin) to ensure adherence to legal requirements
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to supervise shipments, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on timelines and expectations
  • Supervise warehouse operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain proper storage conditions for all goods, including temperature-sensitive items
  • Implement and ensure standard methodologies in warehouse layout, product placement, and inventory systems to optimize storage capacity and minimize stock discrepancies
  • Supervise warehouse staff and ensure they are properly trained in safety, inventory control, and quality assurance standards
  • Liaise with 3PL providers to ensure high-quality logistics services are delivered in line with performance expectations and contractual agreements
  • Monitor and assess 3PL performance by tracking critical metrics like timely delivery, cost efficiency, and service levels
  • Resolve any issues or challenges related to 3PL partners, such as delays, inaccuracies, or inefficiencies, and work to implement corrective actions
  • Identify, assess, and lead process improvements across the logistics operations, focusing on reducing costs, improving cycle times, and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Implement lean principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen) to identify waste and optimize logistics processes
  • Apply data and analytics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in logistics operations
  • Establish and put into action standard operating procedures (SOPs) across the logistics function to ensure consistency and quality
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across different departments, such as sales, procurement, finance, and customer service, to align logistics activities with broader business goals
  • Lead regular cross-functional meetings to review logistics performance, resolve issues, and ensure the timely delivery of goods
  • Develop strong connections with internal collaborators, like warehouse teams, to align on operational objectives and address obstacles
  • Maintain open and clear communication across all logistics teams, providing timely updates on project statuses, potential challenges, and achievements
  • Adopt and lead change by encouraging adaptability in the team and ensuring smooth transitions during process, technology, or policy changes
  • Provide training and guidance to logistics teams
