Requirements

Candidates must possess deep health plan design and benefits knowledge, with experience advising large employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance. A minimum of 7 years in a commercially-oriented account management or sales role within the employee benefits space is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial focus, a proven track record of achieving retention and upsell targets, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

The Strategic Accounts Director will be responsible for retaining and upselling Garner's largest employer clients, collaborating with account managers to ensure client satisfaction and successful outcomes. This role involves acting as a trusted strategic partner to clients on plan design, cost trends, and plan performance, while resolving strategic problems and demonstrating Garner's value. Key duties include establishing and managing strategic broker and client relationships, monitoring client needs and health, executing strategic plans to mitigate risks, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver value-based reports. The Director will also drive improved net revenue retention and other key performance indicators for their assigned book of business.
