Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required)
  • 1+ year(s) of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically recent stand-up forklift experience
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions
  • Must be able to pass a forklift operating test
  • Must be comfortable working in a hot environment
  • Comfortable working overtime as needed, along with potential weekends

Responsibilities

  • Operates and services power forklift trucks, uses hand trucks and other equipment
  • Receives and unloads trucks of incoming material
  • Counts, weighs, and records incoming material
  • Verifies and records counts of incoming and outgoing material on required systems and reports discrepancies to supervision
  • Signs bills of lading on incoming material
  • Loads materials on trucks utilizing the OPS system
  • Follows incoming inspection procedures manual to select, examine, and record condition of samples
  • Has knowledge of product and product specifications
  • Initiates corrective action when substandard samples are found
  • Ensures there is a current MSDS for supplies that require it
  • Supplies production lines and others with necessary materials when required and moves miscellaneous scrap materials out of production area to warehouse or yard
  • Keeps warehouse and yard storage orderly and clean and uses available space to the best advantage
