Requirements

Candidates must possess an MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research. A minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in product analytics, growth, or consumer-facing platforms, is required. A deep understanding of probability, statistics, causal inference, and experimental design is essential, along with proficiency in SQL and Python for end-to-end data processes including querying, manipulation, aggregation, analysis, visualization, and model deployment. Strong knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, price elasticity estimation, customer segmentation, and business acumen related to retention and loyalty levers are also necessary. Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist will design, execute, and analyze experiments to optimize the rider experience and improve retention. They will define project goals, success metrics, and measurement frameworks for initiatives. This role involves delivering data-driven solutions by translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations to influence strategy and roadmap decisions. The Senior Data Scientist will partner with Product and other teams to evaluate and refine retention-focused initiatives, conduct deep-dive analyses to identify patterns and diagnose problems, and identify key "aha" moments that predict long-term retention and quantify their impact on rider behavior.
