Requirements

6+ years in product management, working on developer infrastructure products and with technical customers
Deep understanding of customer needs, onboarding, and product adoption
Understanding and sympathy for how engineering operates in small startups and large enterprises
Knowledge of common tools and patterns in the Observability ecosystem, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zipkin/OpenTracing
Understand the impact of sampling and cardinality on the performance and cost of metrics management
Effectively engaging with stakeholders, identifying core pain points, and articulating a clear product vision

Responsibilities

Define and drive product vision: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, field teams) to establish and execute a clear vision for Kong’s Event Gateway, aligning with customer needs and long-term plans
Lead execution: Partner with engineering and design leaders to scope, define, and deliver capabilities for product releases that bring customer value and promote Kong Event Gateway
Customer-focused planning: Develop deep understanding of customer needs and use cases, supported by data and evidence; translate into artifacts outlining target use cases, milestone plans, and timelines for the product roadmap
Ensure cross-functional alignment: Work closely with engineering, design, and marketing teams to align on use case execution, milestone delivery, and launch plans; foster collaboration and clarity
Develop roadmaps and plans: Create and maintain comprehensive external-facing roadmap and related materials; collaborate with Product Marketing Management (PMM) to develop and execute launch plans
Champion communication and transparency: Serve as central point of communication for internal and external stakeholders on progress, milestones, and expectations; build strong relationships with field teams for effective updates
