VantaFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should have experience partnering with product and design to make key decisions based on strong customer knowledge. Skills in setting up engineers for success on product development teams, experience coaching and developing software engineers of varied backgrounds and levels, and the ability to clarify ambiguous requirements into actionable plans are required. Empathy, an understanding of how to support engineers, and the ability to establish and change processes to empower teams are also necessary. A high level of organization and the ability to manage multiple ambitious, concurrent projects from initial concept through completion are essential.
The Engineering Manager will partner with product managers, UX designers, and engineering leaders to foster a culture of experimentation and incremental delivery based on customer feedback. They will learn the product, observability market, and customer needs to contribute to product, prioritization, and design decisions. This role involves supporting engineers as they own customer and business problems, developing feedback loops with stakeholders, and balancing work to create a healthy team environment. Responsibilities include supporting and developing a team of engineers through coaching and performance management, identifying and removing impediments, and ensuring the reliability and performance of the team's systems. Collaboration with other engineering and product leaders on organizational initiatives and with sister teams on shared goals is also expected.
Cloud-native infrastructure and application monitoring
Chronosphere offers a platform that helps businesses monitor their cloud-native infrastructure and applications by quickly identifying and resolving issues before they affect customers. The platform filters out unnecessary data, allowing users to focus on critical information, which is especially useful for companies still using outdated monitoring tools. Unlike its competitors, Chronosphere emphasizes reducing observability costs, which can be a major expense for engineering teams, and helps decrease on-call alerts by up to 90%. The company's goal is to improve business efficiency and productivity while providing a strong return on investment.
