The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, including at least 2 years managing managers or multiple engineering teams. Experience with observability systems, statistical analysis pipelines, and event-based metrics infrastructure is required. A strong architectural understanding of data platforms, backend services, and cloud-native infrastructure is essential, along with demonstrated success in scaling teams through multiple growth phases. Prior experience in a product-led SaaS or DevTools company is a plus.
The Director of Engineering will set the vision and drive execution across Release Observability teams, guiding engineering strategy and collaborating with cross-functional groups to deliver products. They will partner with product and design to build statistically rigorous, scalable, and well-integrated products, while managing and mentoring senior leaders to cultivate high-performing, inclusive teams. This role involves providing input on roadmap and architectural decisions, collaborating with go-to-market stakeholders to define success metrics and respond to customer needs, and owning the hiring strategy to build diverse and inclusive teams. The Director will also model and evangelize leadership rooted in transparency, ownership, curiosity, and a bias for action.
