Position Overview

  • Salary: $115,500 - $165,000 USD (Base Pay Range, excludes commission/bonus/equity if applicable + benefits)

Zscaler is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join its Cloud Operations team. This role is responsible for deploying, operating, monitoring, and supporting network infrastructures across multiple data centers. The position requires acting as an L3 technical escalation point, performing peer reviews, providing technical guidance, and participating in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience working with ticketing and inventory systems in remote Data Center operations.
  • 6+ years of experience with high-speed copper and fiber Ethernet switch networks.
  • Proficiency in Layer-2 spanning-tree protocols and Layer-3 BGP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience in BGP routing operation, design, and troubleshooting in both IPv4 and IPv6 for large-scale Enterprise or Telecom networks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to deploy, operate, monitor, and support network infrastructures across multiple data centers.
  • Serve as the L3 technical escalation point for high-severity or critical incidents.
  • Conduct peer reviews ("4-Eye checks") on configuration and change scripts.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to the team in the network domain.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for continuous operational support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in IP-packet analysis using Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of DNS, HTTPS, GRE, and IPsec protocols with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and network equipment.
  • Familiarity with Unix Shell scripts.
  • CCNP, JNCIP related certification classes.
