Requirements
Candidates must have 12+ years of backend/platform engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL. Deep expertise in API design, SaaS architectures, microservices, and building/maintaining internal tools/platforms is required. Experience with authentication/authorization systems for multi-tenant applications and AWS/cloud platform design is also necessary. Bonus points for experience in developer tooling, workflow orchestration, compliance-heavy environments, or AI/ML system infrastructure.
Responsibilities
The Staff Engineer (Platform) will be responsible for building the internal platforms that power Deel's Payroll AI and automation teams. This includes designing and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure and developer tooling, as well as working cross-functionally with engineering teams to deliver reusable, stable solutions.
