About Figure

Figure is maximizing the value of homeownership in ways that benefit consumers and the industry alike. We’re helping homeowners tap their liquidity easily, efficiently and reasonably for purpose-driven, significant expenditures – everything from dream home renovations and debt consolidation to small business formation.

In seven years, we’ve become the country’s #1 non-bank HELOC lender. As a financial technology firm operating at the intersection of regulation and transformation, we’re a “unicorn” – a group of fewer than 1000 companies globally that is valued at $1B or more and has been in operation for less than ten years.

Our mission requires us to have a creative, team-oriented, and supportive environment where everyone can do their absolute best. We are motivated, innovative, collaborative, and curious. We value individuals who bring a problem-solving mindset to every task. Every day at Figure is a journey in continuous learning combined with a focus on getting work done that makes a difference. About the Role

As a Staff DevOps Engineer at Figure, you will be pivotal in architecting, building, and scaling our cloud infrastructure and developer-focused platform tools. We’re looking for a curious, innovative, and collaborative engineer to help power the next generation of our direct-to-consumer financial products and drive meaningful change in the industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Help improve how we work by finding and fixing what’s slowing us down and the organization down.
  • Help make life easier for our engineers by building new features and services for our internal platforms.
  • Tackle problems with innovative ideas, focusing on steady, iterative progress.
  • Take the lead on cross-team projects that significantly impact the business.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers while setting a solid example.
  • Actively participate in on-call rotations and our Slack support channel.

What We Look For

  • Someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration and can work across teams to architect solutions, troubleshoot complex problems, and drive alignment. This role requires clear and effective communication with teammates, engineers, product teams, and external stakeholders.
  • 6+ years of experience as a senior or staff DevOps engineer and/or SRE, managing highly available, production cloud infrastructure at scale. Experience with GCP and Private Service Connect is preferred, but not required.
  • Deep experience managing Kubernetes in production environments, including building and maintaining custom operators, provisioning and scaling clusters. Proficiency with API gateways such as Kong and Traefik, and skilled in Kubernetes configuration management using tools like Helm and Kustomize is ideal.
  • Demonstrable experience writing applications and/or utilities with Go, including building JSON APIs/web servers and using standard frameworks, such as Kubernetes client-go.
  • A passion for Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or OpenTofu, and a focus on streamlining workflows through automation platforms such as Atlantis, Terraform Cloud, or equivalent tools.
  • Expertise with observability tooling (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, ELK stack) and a strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices.
  • Experience automating continuous cloud deployments with tools like GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
  • Prior experience with blockchain infrastructure is a plus, though not required.
  • Demonstrates relentless curiosity, probes into problems until the root cause is found, and constantly investigates old and new technologies to drive lasting improvements.
