Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of data structures and cloud platform environments (AWS strongly preferred, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with ETL processes
  • Familiarity with data warehousing technologies (e.g., DBT, Redshift)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for a data engineering team.
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines and models for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Implement data validation and QA best practices.
  • Optimize pipeline performance, cost, and data quality.
  • Migrate data warehouse architecture to a Lakehouse architecture (e.g., S3, Glue, Databricks, Unity catalog).
  • Mentor data engineers and promote best practices in software engineering, documentation, and metadata management.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, GLBA).
  • Translate ambiguous business requirements into technical solutions using marketing domain knowledge.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams (AppEng, DataEng, BI, Kin’s business).
  • Help teammates overcome technical challenges and offer guidance.
