Candidates must have a demonstrable experience working with key clinical and research accounts and customers in Tennessee/Alabama, 3+ years of proven life science capital sales experience, and success working effectively within a highly collaborative, team setting. A strong understanding of next generation sequencing (NGS) and genotyping is foundational, along with success in independent lead generation, prospecting, business development, consultative and strategic selling, and driving complex sales within multi-layered environments. Experience winning/growing business and establishing long-term customer relationships, high motivation with a strong drive to deliver exceptional results, and success working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change are also required.
The Sr Territory Account Manager will ensure the achievement of territory sales objectives and growth targets, develop and implement sales plans, accurately forecast sales projections, and provide feedback on sales opportunities, market, and competitor activities. Responsibilities include developing territory and account-specific sales plans, executing them to meet quotas, adjusting plans as needed, engaging in accurate forecasting and pipeline management, and proactively utilizing and maintaining the CRM database. The role involves delivering technical/scientific seminars, demonstrating the role and relevance of Illumina’s product portfolio, providing consultation to customers, and demonstrating command of scientific knowledge for a collaborative sales process. The Account Manager will proactively monitor market trends and customer needs, collaborate cross-functionally, navigate multi-tiered sales processes, match customer business objectives to Illumina capabilities, prospect for new leads, actively manage existing accounts and relationships, and continuously work to expand the customer base. Developing and maintaining strong customer connections, engaging in ongoing learning of new applications and growth opportunities, handling interpersonal challenges effectively, and maintaining focus on the customer are key. A win-win approach in negotiations is also expected.
