Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, along with 3+ years of experience in system administration or support engineering. A basic understanding of SSL/TLS and its use in secure communication is required, as is comfort with command line and scripting tools like PowerShell. Strong experience managing SSL certificates in diverse environments, familiarity with web servers, load balancers (F5), and DNS, and an understanding of SSL/TLS protocols, HTTPS, and PKI fundamentals are essential. Experience with ITSM tools like Service Desk/ServiceNow and PowerBI is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to collaborate in a team, and availability for 24x7 shifts including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations are necessary. A strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn are also key requirements. Preferred qualifications include understanding of LogicMonitor, Azure, Ticketing tools (Service Now), healthcare applications, and ITIL best practices.
The Sr Systems Support Engineer will manage the procurement, deployment, renewal, and revocation of SSL/TLS certificates, maintaining an accurate inventory of all certificates in use. They will monitor certificate expiry dates, proactively manage renewals, and work with internal teams to ensure correct certificate installation and configuration. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting SSL-related issues, implementing automation for certificate issuance and renewal, and providing documentation, training, and guidance on SSL best practices to development and operations teams.
