Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience
Typically 5-8 years of professional experience and strong competency with the various tools, systems, or procedures required to accomplish the job
3+ years of designing Big Data systems and processes in a Cloud environment
Advanced expertise in SQL and query optimization techniques
2+ years’ experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, PySpark)
Experience in design and development of an Enterprise CI/CD process
2+ years experience with a variety of Microsoft Azure services (Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and SQLDB) and processes in a Cloud environment

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, monitor, and support a platform or application
Maintain thoughtful application design and build subject matter expertise in the business area
Contribute to and refine the team’s backlog; partner with teammates and Product Owner to break down work, ensure clear value and acceptance criteria, inform estimates and prioritization, identify dependencies, and influence the product roadmap
Generate stories for backlog to address performance, non-functional requirements, tech debt, modernization, and simplification
Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-up, backlog refinement, planning, review/demo, retrospectives) and drive collaboration (e.g., pair programming); seek continuous improvement
Understand application architecture for the squad’s broader area, partner with Solution Architects to adopt enterprise patterns and technology goals, and implement reference architectures for cost-effective solutions
Mentor junior and intermediate squad members on technical delivery and build their skills through direction, example, and learning opportunities
Establish and manage quality standards, leverage automation, ensure performance/uptime/scale, participate in peer code reviews, troubleshoot/fix bugs/security risks/bottlenecks, and improve software development lifecycle
Create and maintain support playbooks
Monitor and observe health, availability, and performance of software in production; diagnose issues, implement new monitoring and proactive alerting
Employ DevOps practices to advance technical foundation; stay current on technology landscape and ensure solutions are modern, simple, and secure
Perform other duties as assigned
