Responsibilities
Lead the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) team within IT Business Operations and oversee all aspects of the IT project portfolio
Partner with the Director of IT Project Management, IT leadership, and their teams to ensure clear processes, tools, and KPIs are in place to guide and measure the IT project portfolio
Provide thought leadership in resolving issues and mitigating risks to ensure programs and projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications
Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and manage resource plans to balance team workloads
Ensure adoption of established portfolio management practices and instill a culture of execution, operational excellence, and accountability
Support IT department heads with long-range planning and development of multi-year technology roadmaps to ensure execution of key IT programs and projects aligned with strategic goals
Facilitate joint planning sessions with IT project teams and business owners to evaluate and propose solutions for governance decisions
Work with the Director of Project Management and IT project teams to schedule resources, track budgets, milestones, timelines, and KPIs for visibility into all IT projects
Optimize the overall project portfolio, balance capacity against demand, and connect plans and resources to project execution
Enable effective decision-making to maximize investment, drive business value, and provide transparency of portfolio-related decisions
Manage and support the IT roadmap in partnership with IT leadership, ensuring projects and initiatives align with IT and business strategic goals and KPIs
Manage the Portfolio Management team and operational processes, including request/intake process, project prioritization, project approval, project tracking and management, portfolio management standards and governance, portfolio management tool maintenance, and project change requests (PCR)
Perform financial analysis on all project budgets and work with project managers/teams to prepare financial reports for budget and forecast deliverables
Create collaborative partnerships among IT leaders and portfolio stakeholders, enabling resource demand planning, change management, and project pipeline planning decisions
Work with business and technical owners, functional leaders, and project managers to identify project interrelationships affecting priority and resource allocation
Continuously seek process improvements and tools to evolve the PMO using industry best practices
Champion portfolio management best practices to drive better project planning, delivery, and change management
