Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fields (MBA and advanced studies a plus)
  • More than 3 years’ experience in supply chain management, including 3PL management, import/export logistics, logistics efficiency improvement, and inventory control (sales-related experience a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in business-level English and fluent in Japanese
  • Experience working with global companies across different time zones (appreciated)
  • Experience in logistics projects such as forwarder replacement, warehouse relocation, WMS implementation, and logistics network optimization (highly valued)
  • Project management skills with various parties (recommended)
  • Prior experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems (a plus)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manipulate and summarize data clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting at all levels
  • Self-starter, results-driven, team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, assign effective priorities, and operate with autonomy
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of judgment

Responsibilities

  • Realize “Streamline” logistics by designing and executing iRobot Logistics Strategy
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with logistics service providers (W/H, distribution operators, forwarding agents) as main contact to achieve strategy goals
  • Ensure daily logistics operations run smoothly by cooperating with related departments (Sales, Sales Ops, Supply Planning, Quality Control, etc.)
  • Control inventory properly at warehouses and coordinate auditing with internal and external auditors
  • Promote and manage logistics projects (e.g., new warehouse launch, new product introduction, forwarding partner changes, network study)
  • Manage import logistics compliance, including Japan customs regulations, in cooperation with forwarding agents
  • Act as main liaison with forwarding agents to achieve iRobot Logistics Strategy goals
  • Drive logistics cost reduction projects (Kaizen activities) through setting and managing KPIs
  • Review and build up current Logistics Strategy
  • Ensure daily logistics activities run smoothly by working with Supply Planner, Quality Control, and Sales Ops
  • Manage inventory status control, stock transfers to balance inventory, inventory reconciliation
  • Purchase materials (e.g., cartons, stickers)
  • Handle rework/refurbishment activities, write-offs, and scrapping
  • Analyze and report logistics cost, service level, and quality by setting up and checking KPIs; build continuous improvement plans
  • Organize and lead regular meetings with logistics providers and related departments; assign action items to team members
  • Work closely with Global Logistics Team on cost reduction projects
  • Serve as integral decision maker for efficient support of internal customers (DtC, Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Finance, HQ management)
  • Internalize and role model “Builder’s Code” (iRobot Credo)
