Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer), Engineering, or related field
  • 8 years minimum relevant industry experience
  • 5 years in a role directly collaborating with customers
  • Experience in Pharma or Biotech industries working with laboratory instrumentation preferred
  • Software problem-solving techniques and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devices
  • Analytical skills to identify complexities and address appropriate solutions
  • Proficiency with programming languages (C++, Python, or other)
  • Familiarity with IQ/OQ validation or GxP requirements is considered an asset
  • Valid Passport
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time internationally without restrictions

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary onsite point of contact for clients during installation, training, and ongoing support
  • Lead discussions and provide customers with solutions & recommendations to achieve their goals
  • Work closely with the client’s automation group and scientists on feedback and lessons learned, sharing them with internal teams to drive and implement continuous improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to implement technical improvements and address hardware and software automation issues
  • Translate customer’s scientific requirements to develop & implement automated workflows using Momentum™ scheduling software
  • Serve as the technical lead in defining data-handling requirements and configuring systems to interact with the customer’s Lab Information Management System (LIMS) as needed
  • Maintain uptime and provide technical assistance to ensure continuous operation of Thermo Fisher manufactured products including the tracking of quality and response-time metrics
  • Support customer support issues internally for various automation platforms
  • Coordinate and perform software upgrades and system re-qualification processes
  • Lead discussions with 3rd party instrument vendors in relation to integration and/or software issues
