Strong market knowledge, a professional network, experience in conducting on-site customer seminars and technical presentations, and computer proficiency in MS Office and CRM are essential. The role also requires a commercial attitude, a strong motivation to win new business, the ability to work cross-functionally in matrix environments, and the capacity to travel up to 70% including overnight stays. The Account Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities, manage key accounts, and promote the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) product portfolio to customers across various industries. Responsibilities include building lasting customer relationships, increasing share of wallet within existing accounts by identifying underpenetrated areas and improving the CMD value proposition, and managing all elements of the sales process from qualification to closing orders. The role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans using data to achieve revenue targets and improve market penetration, collaborating with cross-functional teams, expanding current account penetration, and leading territory direction. Additionally, the Account Manager will maintain an accurate sales pipeline, stay aware of competitor and industry activity, introduce new products and services, and collaborate with internal partners like technical sales and field application specialists to provide expertise and support. They will also coordinate technical business presentations, attend customer events and trade shows, and represent Thermo Fisher Scientific professionally at customer locations.
