Requirements

  • Experience in technical services/manufacturing science (TS/MS) for small molecule API manufacturing
  • Leadership experience managing TS/MS functions, including capacity, capability, and leadership structures
  • Ability to provide administrative and technical leadership for small molecule TS/MS operations
  • Expertise in GMP manufacturing, process validation, and regulatory compliance (e.g., pre-approval inspections)
  • Knowledge of new product introduction, process optimization, and technical agenda development
  • Strategic planning and execution skills for site and business objectives
  • Experience building technical relationships with development groups (e.g., Synthetic Molecule Design and Development)
  • People management skills, including coaching, mentoring, resource allocation, and developing future technical leadership
  • Ability to manage cross-functional issues spanning multiple teams and external contexts

Responsibilities

  • Manage the site TS/MS function for small molecule API, ensuring capacity, capability, and leadership to execute the manufacturing plan
  • Serve as a member of the Lilly Lebanon API Small Molecule Plant Lead Team, contributing to strategic direction, organizational capability, and business management
  • Support safe, on-time startup, process validation, and successful pre-approval inspections
  • Develop and participate in medium- and long-term strategic direction for the site
  • Provide leadership for the small molecule technical agenda and support new molecule introductions
  • Develop future technical leadership for the plant, including for potential international assignments
  • Collaborate with Development groups to identify and pursue new products or business opportunities
  • Lead all aspects of small molecule TS/MS, including new product introduction and optimization
  • Participate in developing and executing strategic and operational plans for the site
  • Build technical relationships with Synthetic Molecule Design and Development organization
  • Participate in key strategic decisions for the small molecule business from planning and execution perspectives
  • Ensure all small molecule processes remain in a validated state, meeting cGMP and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure technical documents are up to date and technical reports are completed on schedule to appropriate standards
  • Provide necessary resources and facilities to the TS/MS business unit
  • Coach and mentor others in leadership, business, and technical areas, providing feedback and administrative support
