Candidates should possess 6-10 years of overall Industry experience with 4-6 years in a data ecosystem, along with proven hands-on experience utilizing Domo, Tableau, and other visualization tools, including homegrown platforms. They should also have strong SQL or PL/SQL programming skills and Unix shell scripting expertise, as well as hands-on experience in object-oriented or functional programming languages such as Scala, Python, or Java. Furthermore, candidates are expected to have solid experience with the Hadoop ecosystem and its components, including Map-Reduce programming, Hive, and Pig scripting, as well as experience in designing and developing Oozie workflows. Git source code management experience and familiarity with an agile environment are also required, along with exposure to R, Python, Hive, or other open-source languages. A conceptual understanding of foundational mathematics and statistics, and analytical techniques like Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Time-series models, and Classification Techniques, is necessary. Finally, a B.Tech / B.E. or Masters degree in Statistics, Econometrics, or Mathematics is required.
As a Sr. Data Analyst, you will support all business areas of Target with critical data analysis, helping team members make profitable decisions. You will determine the best methods for gathering data and presenting information, build reporting solutions to meet business needs, communicate with project/team managers to share knowledge and findings, document design and requirements for reporting solutions, and interface with Target business representatives and leaders to validate business requirements/requests for reporting solutions. You will utilize tools like decision trees, clustering, regression, time series, structural equation modeling, linear programming, SAS, SQL, VBA, and OLAP to provide actionable insights and support groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals.
