Analytics Manager

Position Overview

Khan Academy is seeking an experienced and people-focused Analytics Manager to lead its Analytics function, a key part of the larger Data Insights Group. This role is crucial for driving transformative change by generating impactful insights and nurturing a data-informed culture across Khan Academy. The successful candidate will combine deep analytics expertise with a passion for mentorship and team leadership to elevate decision-making and product effectiveness, particularly in light of recent high-profile partnerships and new educational product launches.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead and coach a team.
  • Analytics Expertise: Deep understanding of analytics principles and practices.
  • Mentorship Skills: Passion for mentoring and professional development of team members.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with various teams such as Product, Philanthropy, District Success, and International.
  • Data Visualization & Communication: Experience in developing dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate key performance metrics.
  • Code Review: Ability to review code for quality, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to drive strategic prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Data Self-Service Culture: Experience in promoting and enabling data self-service for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the Analytics Team

  • Lead and coach a team focused on fundamental product and KPI reporting for cross-functional teams.
  • Provide support to team members on complex projects and stakeholder prioritization.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, shared learning, and continuous improvement within the Analytics team.
  • Review code to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability of analytics outputs.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities, including mentoring on soft skills, access to formal training, and peer learning to enhance technical and leadership expertise.

Cultivate a Data-Informed Culture

  • Promote thoughtful, insight-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive strategic prioritization, including goal setting, timeline alignment, and resource allocation for Analytics work.
  • Drive a data self-service culture by ensuring stakeholders have access to easy-to-use, reliable dashboards.
  • Develop engaging methods to communicate key performance metrics, such as dashboards, internal reports, and monthly business review presentations.

Support Strategic Initiatives

  • Partner with the Sr. Director of the Data Insights Group to ensure strong Analytics representation in the evaluation of new initiatives.
