Requirements

Bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Experience with technical sales of distributed systems, infrastructure software like databases, message queues, SaaS, or Big Data products
Experience building and operating large scale systems
Understanding of systems operations concepts (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
Experience with Java or Python
Familiarity with developing ETL applications
Experience with MEDDIC/MEDDPICC or similar frameworks used for qualification
Experience in Apache Kafka
Experience in sales, preferably in the software or technology industry
Strong presentation and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and lead engagements with customers
Experience in sales, preferably in the enterprise or software industry
Experience in sales, preferably in the Big Data or distributed systems industry
Experience in sales, preferably in the SaaS industry
Experience in sales, preferably in the infrastructure software industry

Responsibilities

Drive the technical evaluation stage of the overall sales process
Work closely with the product management and engineering teams
Serve as a vital product advocate in front of prospects, customers, and the wider Kafka and Big Data communities
Provide technical advice to Confluent customers on technical design and development of their end-to-end solution
Conduct discovery and whiteboard sessions to develop new use-cases
Provide thought leadership by delivering technical talks and workshops
Guide customers with hands-on help and best practice to drive operational maturity of their Confluent deployment
Analyze customer consumption trends and identify optimization opportunities
Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to identify known issues and inform them of upcoming fixes or workarounds
Forge strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and serve as a dependable partner for them
Lead engagements with customers autonomously
Work with Account Executive and other internal teams to engage with key customer personas
Develop and deliver presentations and communications to a highly skilled and experienced audience
Build solutions with Apache Kafka
Understand and apply systems operations concepts (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
