Candidates should possess an extensive hands-on Snowflake experience, a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, and a minimum of five years of experience as a solutions architect, data architect, database administrator, or data engineer. Three years of technical consulting experience are required, along with familiarity with the complete data analytics stack and workflow, including ETL, data platform design, and BI/analytics tools. Strong knowledge of large-scale database technology (e.g., Snowflake, Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum) and proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, and/or Spark are also necessary. Experience in implementing data security measures and access controls within the Snowflake platform is required, as is a Snowflake Snowpro Advanced Certification.
As a Solutions Architect, Public Sector at Snowflake, the individual will present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors to customers, particularly in the Public Sector, positioning themselves as a Trusted Advisor to key stakeholders and driving project teams towards common goals. They will demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the engagement, from demos to proof-of-concept to workshops and implementation, and create repeatable processes and documentation. The role also involves collaborating on and creating industry-based solutions, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies, and following best practices to ensure knowledge transfer for customers. Finally, they will follow company confidentiality and security standards for handling sensitive data and abide by the company’s data security plan.
