Candidates should have 4+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting within data operations, analytics, or BI. A strong foundation in pre-sales or technical sales is essential, along with a solid technical background including SQL, ETL, and data modeling. Familiarity with modern data warehousing architectures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also required. Prior experience with dbt, data modeling methods, data warehousing tooling, and leading technical sales cycles will make candidates stand out.
The Solutions Architect will serve as the technical counterpart to the Sales team, advancing deals and driving value for prospects by leading the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of dbt for enterprise customers. Responsibilities include becoming an expert in designing enterprise-grade data pipelines with dbt Cloud, communicating the technical value of dbt Labs products, guiding customers through proof-of-concept implementations, and deploying dbt Cloud in private clouds for enterprise clients. The role also involves owning the customer lifecycle from pre-sale to adoption, collaborating with product on the enterprise roadmap, building relationships with partners, and enabling them to implement dbt. Additionally, the Solutions Architect will be an active member of the dbt community.
