Candidates must have over 5 years of experience in K-12 education, with expertise in assessment design, instructional coaching, or curriculum and instruction. Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, or supporting common or formative assessments at the school or district level is required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to craft clear, strategic narratives linking instructional goals to technical capabilities, familiarity with standards-based grading, curriculum alignment, data literacy, and differentiated instruction, strong collaboration and communication skills, and proficiency with digital assessment platforms. Preferred qualifications include experience in a district assessment team, data and innovation role, or curriculum and instruction leadership position, prior work in educational technology sales, customer success, or solutions consulting, comfort navigating assessment-related data, and a deep understanding of assessment equity, feedback practices, and universal design principles.
The Solutions Architect will lead technical discovery and solution mapping for strategic opportunities involving Formative by Newsela. They will architect and deliver tailored demonstrations and proofs to showcase how Formative addresses real-time feedback, instructional alignment, and assessment consistency. The role involves translating complex district needs into practical implementation recommendations and proof plans, surfacing field insights to Product and Content teams to inform roadmap development, and developing and maintaining reusable assets such as demo templates, solution briefs, and configuration best practices. Additionally, the Solutions Architect will mentor peers on assessment strategy and Formative positioning, and support RFP strategy and technical documentation for Formative-related custom content or security needs.
