The Software Quality Testing Engineer 2 thoroughly evaluates the software products according to the business standards or function requirements. The Software Quality Testing Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

  • Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects and verifies fixes.
  • Develops test data and procedures for ensuring the software products meet organization standards and end-user requirements.
  • Is very familiar with the software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
  • Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Less than 5 years of technical experience
  • Experience isolating, reproducing, and tracking defects and verifying fixes
  • Experience developing test data and procedures for ensuring the software products meet organization standards and end-user requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

Work Location & Travel

  • Work Location: Remote
  • Travel: Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Work at Home Guidance

  • Internet Service:
    • Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps recommended.
    • Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection suggested.
    • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Internet Expense Reimbursement: Associates living and working from Home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Equipment: Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work Environment: Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $73,400 - $100,100 per year
  • Bonus: This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
