Candidates must possess a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree from an accredited university, along with 3-5 years of experience in embedded software verification within a highly regulated environment. Mastery of the C programming language and common test scripting languages is essential, as is experience with hard real-time systems, built-in-test, tasking and interrupts, RTOS, bare-metal development, and communication protocols like CAN, I2C, and SPI. A strong understanding of software configuration management and contemporary software build, integration, test, and deployment methodologies is also required, along with the ability to read electrical schematics, documentation, and datasheets. Experience with STMicroelectronics ARM Cortex-M series microcontrollers and a deep understanding of DO-178C and its supplements are highly desirable.
The Embedded Software Test Engineer will analyze and test the embedded software operating on the ALIA-250 production aircraft as part of the Software Certification team. Responsibilities include developing automated and manual tests for requirements-based verification of embedded software and tools, performing software analyses such as worst-case timing and memory margin, and generating life cycle data compliant with DO-178C Level A. This includes creating requirements-based verification cases and procedures, verification results, associated documentation, and ensuring traceability. The role also involves informing and reviewing the outputs of the software development team.
