Requirements

Must be based in Brazil (remote)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred
Experience in software development in a leadership or management role
Proven experience managing and leading high-performing software engineering teams
Strong technical proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
Expertise in backend development using Kotlin
Experience with front-end technologies, particularly React
Demonstrated experience with scaled, high-availability systems
Solid understanding of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and best practices
Knowledge of Kotlin and Java
Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of leading with empathy, fostering a positive team environment, and managing performance
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Advanced/Fluent English (written and speaking) is mandatory
Experience with video processing, computer vision, or IoT applications is a plus
Strategic thinker with ability to understand broader business context

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Mentor and coach team members, providing regular feedback and supporting their professional growth and career development
Implement and maintain high engineering standards, best practices, and processes to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable software
Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, design, other engineering teams) across global regions (North America, Europe, Latin America/Brazil)
Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance)
Drive technical excellence and innovation, leveraging appropriate technologies and architectural patterns
Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables while focusing on quality and user experience
Act as a technical leader, providing guidance in cloud infrastructure (AWS), backend development (Kotlin), and front-end technologies (React)
Champion a safety-first mindset, ensuring product features contribute to safer driving practices
