The Software Engineering Manager will lead development on the Horizon platform and contribute to the transition of domestic and international payment platforms into a unified global system. Responsibilities include guiding the team in delivering clean, testable, and well-documented code, overseeing code reviews, refactoring, unit testing, and performance optimization. The role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting production issues, maintaining technical documentation, and collaborating with Product and Design to plan and deliver new features. Additionally, the manager will lead a distributed team of software and QA engineers, provide clear goals, conduct performance reviews, offer coaching and mentorship, foster a collaborative environment, manage the team's on-call rotation, and advocate for flexible working arrangements. Collaboration with various Xplor teams to deliver a global payment processing platform, aligning technical decisions with architectural direction, and influencing engineering best practices, scalability, and operational excellence are also key duties.
