Position Overview

Laced, a full-service creative agency specializing in audio, music, publishing, and merchandise for the gaming and entertainment industries, is seeking a freelance/contractor Social Media & Community Assistant or Manager. This role will support projects across the record label, merchandise, and general Laced branding.

Founded in 2015 and based in London, Laced is a creative agency working with major clients such as Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Capcom, Xbox Game Studios, Sega, and Ubisoft. Laced offers four core services:

  • Merchandise & E-Commerce Solutions

Laced has released over 250 albums, including nearly 200 vinyl products, and boasts a rapidly growing merchandise and e-commerce business.

The Role

We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in social media and/or content creation, ideally with experience in vinyl and merchandise, and a passion for video games. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong copywriting skills, and familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and video editing software. You should be proficient with various social media platforms, scheduling tools, and managing a content calendar. A key aspect of this role is interacting with customers and the public online in an appropriate, accurate, fun, and friendly manner.

Ideally, you will be comfortable with basic photography and video filming and editing. You will work closely with the existing team to plan and create social media content to promote the label and its music releases.

Estimated Working Hours: 15-20 per week, with availability required 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a social media schedule and posts.
  • Create a variety of text-based, image, and video content.
  • Generate engaging social content ideas beyond product campaigns.
  • Manage campaign assets across multiple music releases.
  • Engage with customers and the public in a light-hearted but appropriate manner.
  • Potentially photograph and video products and act as an online presence for Laced.
  • Build and send product newsletters, including images and copy.
  • Assist in building client YouTube channels and managing content.
  • Stay updated with video game and soundtrack news and trends.
  • Work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Follow company and client style and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various teams to meet deadlines.
  • Organize and store all files efficiently within company archives and folders.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in social media, community marketing, and content creation.
  • Ideally, experience in the video game sector.
  • Knowledge of social media content types and trends.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Familiarity with platforms including X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, Threads, and Reddit.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Canva.
  • Awareness of successful social media brand accounts.
  • Awareness of video game and music trends.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Generally technically savvy and able to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience with schedulers like X Pro, Meta Business Suite, deck.blue.
  • Experience with video editing software such as After Effects or Premiere Pro.
